flimsy...but inexpensive

Flimsy, but inexpensive...definitely get what you pay for. The plastic mount parts are very brittle, light-weight plastic. There are two plastic tines that connect/disconnect the mount from the suction arm for interchanging with the vent mount. The tines are VERY fragile, especially considering they are about the only real moving parts. After swapping the suction arm with vent mount twice, just to check the process on how it works, one of the tines broke off...and I guarantee I wasn't using undue pressure or force at the time. I had already decided not to use the vent mount so as not to lose the air flow from the dashboard, so I epoxied the suction arm to the back of the mount...kind of a permanent fix, unless I feel like sawing the arm off the back.

As far as the mount, I use it for my iPod Touch. It holds the Touch firmly and securely...the foam padding around the inside of the mount creates a snug fit without having to worry about damaging the iPod. There is enough room on the bottom for an audio cable and interface cable to plug in. So far, no noticeable wear on the foam padding after using it for over a month. The mount rattles a lot when there is nothing clipped in, but that's to be expected. It expands/contracts enough for a very wide range of electronics.

Bottom line, it's fine...just keep in mind the parts are as brittle and fragile as they feel when attaching the mount. The price is very good, inexpensive shipping...overall I'm satisfied, just would have liked to have seen heavier duty plastic on the critical parts.
