Great Idea, But Won't Work w/ Some Cables

This is a great concept for an iPhone/iPod cradle - instead of having to plug your cable into the phone first and then insert into the cradle, this miPRO cradle had the dock connector from your cable firmly attached to the bottom just like a home docking station. However, I could not get the included cable adapters to work with the iPhone cable in my car (a USA Spec cable). This cradle comes with four difference adapter plates that your iPhone cable is supposed to fit in but all four adapters are made for very small dock connectors. Apple's own iPhone cable is slim like this, but many aftermarket cables - including Amazon's own cable and most cables that come with car stereo adapters - have much bigger overmolds around the dock connector side. I had to jerry-rig my cable into this cradle and because of that the cable isn't a snug or secure as it's supposed to be. So it slips out sometimes when I try to insert my iPhone. It barely works if I'm VERY careful about inserting the phone, but it's frustrating that there aren't more size options for the cable adapters that come with this cradle.

Conclusion: This is a great cradle IF you can use your original Apple iPhone cable OR you have an aftermarket cable that has a very slim dock connector plug (i.e. about the same size as Apple's). For those with larger dock connector plugs, a more traditional cradle that you have to plug in your own cord first will work much better.

3 stars for a neat concept, but no more stars than that because you just can't use very many different cables with this cradle. It's frustrating to be so close!
